If you are using a Debian based distribution, the best way to install Psychosynth is to add the repository to your sources list. To add your repository you may do it graphically using Synaptic or just edit this file as root: /etc/apt/sources.list. There are repositories available for the following distributions:

Debian Sid

deb http://www.psychosynth.com/repos/sid ./

This repository has been tested Debian Sid, but may also work for Debian Testing.

It won't work on Ubuntu, as it have require some packages (libceguiogrerenderer-1.4.6 and libogremain-1.4.6) witch are not available in Ubuntu repository.
